A Brand New Brand
Never Fully Grown
I am of the belief that we are never "fully grown." We're always changing and evolving – discovering new passions, learning as we go, and not least of all, making mistakes that (hopefully) teach us valuable lessons along the way.
When I started blogging, a long time ago, it was for the sole purpose of keeping people informed and updated on our family life. I was pregnant with our first, and a blog seemed like the easiest way to keep in touch with family and friends who felt invested in our lives. After awhile, my blog began to change and evolve in its own way as I discovered (or re-discovered) new passions, let go of certain hobbies, picked up new skills, and began to use my blog as a creative outlet.
Over time I've renamed my blog several times, have used a handful of different platforms and servers, changed direction and struggled to identify a "niche," felt underwhelmed, overwhelmed, intimidated, and confused. Blogging has always been fun and fulfilling though, so I've always kept going. Over the past year I started identifying The Life In Between (former name, if you're new) as a "creative lifestyle blog", and monetized my efforts by sharing sponsored content and offering monthly design subscriptions to those of you who enjoy my hand-lettering work.
Now, as many of you know, wellness is a new passion of mine and it's become a huge part of my life. As a generally (physically) healthy person, the concept of "wellness" used to make me think only of physical health, like diet, exercise, avoiding sickness, etc., but recently I've been learning that wellness means so much more than having a physically healthy body. It also means having a relatively healthy mind and spirit.
I've thought and prayed long and hard about how to shift the focus of my blog from its general and all-too-vague "lifestyle" niche to becoming a space where women could gather as a community and approach overall wellness together from an authentic angle.
Authenticity • Wellness • Creativity
What does "overall wellness" mean to you?
To me, overall wellness means:
- Having the courage to be my authentic, true self
- Embracing the season I'm in
- Pursuing my passions
- Being part of a community
- Striving to keep physically healthy
- Prioritizing faith and family
So, what does this mean for my "new" site?
I want to add value to women's lives by proving that overall wellness and abundance can be achieved. I believe women can thrive at home and in business while living happy, healthy lives when they authentically embrace the season they're in.
I want this – with all of its facets – to be a space where you find authentic encouragement, an engaging community, and valuable resources for your creative mind and chaotic(ally organized) life. And in the spirit of all that, I'd love for you to join my new Facebook Group so we can get a conversation going as a community!
And yes, I'm still going to #letterallthethings for you. I'll have hand-lettered quotes and resources to inspire authenticity, wellness, and creativity – a lot like this goodie, here (click to download and print this freebie!):
There's nothing like coming together with like-minded people to celebrate and support each other, and to inspire and encourage one another to live a more fulfilling and abundant life.
It's no secret that life's a mess. So instead of trying to fool everyone into thinking we've got it all together, let's clink our glasses (clink!), ignore our to-do lists for another minute, and celebrate RIGHT. WHERE. WE. ARE.
I can't wait for you to join me!
