Daily Happiness Series - Question 16

Question 16: What is success for you?

My Answer: 'Success' is such a loaded word, with so many different definitions to so many different people. But since you ask, my personal definition of success is JOY. I believe that in every moment of your day, your week, your life, you should count your joyful moments as success.

If you've got not even a penny to your name; if you're living in your parents' basement at the age of 40; if your dreams are still dreams; if your business hasn't taken off and is standing in the shadows of large corporations; if you're single, divorced, married, with or without children; if you're Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Mark Zuckerberg, or if you're a Temp working for a local business... you are successful when you've found joy

Count your joyful moments as success.

At the risk of sounding cliché: success isn't about the money in your bank. Success isn't about how high you stand on the corporate ladder, nor is it about your social status. Success is about you; it's about where you find your worth. If you find your worth in the things of this world -- in your position and status -- it will only become harder and harder for you to find joy in your moments. And when you've found your joy -- for every time you find your joy -- you have been successful.
